Accreditations & Certifications

Accreditation from URAC is one of the highest levels of accreditation that a medical review organization can attain. In 2002, MPRO earned full accreditation from URAC as a Health Utilization Management (HUM) and Independent Review Organization (IRO) URAC standards ensure that only appropriately trained, qualified clinical personnel conduct and oversee the review process; that a reasonable, timely and efficient process is in place; and that medical decisions are based on valid clinical criteria. Approved Provider of Continuing Education Credits

MPRO is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Michigan Nurses Association, an accredited approver of the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
The CPHQ certification recognizes professional and academic achievement by individuals in the field of healthcare quality management. The comprehensive body of knowledge includes quality management, quality improvement, case management, utilization management and risk management at all employment levels and in all health care settings. The CPHQ program is fully accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies of the National Organization for Competency Assurance in Washington, DC, the only national voluntary program in the field to achieve this accreditation.

 

ABQAURP Credentials
MPRO's Medical Director, and many of MPRO's physician reviewers are accredited by American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians (ABQAURP). Established in 1977, ABQAURP is the only Health Care Quality Management organization with an examination developed, administered, and evaluated through the National Board of Medical Examiners' (NBME) testing expertise. The NBME's involvement in the certification process reflects ABQAURP's dedication to establishing Health Care Quality Management as a specialty with definable standards upheld by knowledgeable experts. Employers from all facets of the health care industry recognize the value of the ABQAURP credential when seeking qualified health care professionals to meet their staffing needs.
