Physician Reviewers
MPRO is seeking Physician Reviewers from all specialties to conduct quality care and utilization reviews for Medicare, State Medicaid Programs and independent external reviews. These reviews do not include medical liability cases or billing issues.

Physician Reviewer Duties
- Give final determinations regarding the medical necessity of admissions, the validity of diagnostic and procedural information, and quality of care issues;
- Make fair and consistent decisions based on objective review of the documentation in the medical record or provided via the telephone for concurrent review;
- Perform reviews at MPRO offices, or arrangements can be made for review within the consultants’ offices.
Physician Reviewer Qualifications
Physician Reviewers Must:
- Have active Michigan medical licenses and actively provide care to patients at least 20 hours per week.
- Have staff privileges at a Michigan hospital; and
- Be board certified
Potential consultants are interviewed by MPRO’s Medical Director, James Mitchiner, M.D.
